KdG FabLab
How did we tackle this project?
Initial problem
The KdG FabLab website was getting old, slow & hard to manage. In addition, it was difficult for visitors to find info regarding (the availability of) the machines inside the lab.
As a team of students studying UX, UI, front- & back-end development, we had to come up with a new website that was easy to navigate and included a way to reserve machines.
Our solution
What we came up with was a brand new KirbyCMS website following the KdG branding & best practices. The content and design had been updated to include all relevant information: Accessibility, machine categories, machine information, etc.
The website was linked to a Laravel web application that allowed all devices to be reserved on an hourly basis. This was possible for both students of kdg as externals.
For this assignment, we were coached by lecturers from KdG Hogeschool.
